About us
About GreenMind.
Understanding plant bioelectrical signals to improve cultivation decisions.
Our mission
Agriculture currently monitors temperature, light and soil moisture, but rarely the condition of the plant itself. GreenMind aims to change that. We are developing a system that records plant bioelectrical signals to support better cultivation decisions. A Galaxyadvisors AG project in collaboration with FHNW.
Why it matters
Global demand for food is rising, while water and farmland are under pressure. Climate variability makes conventional cultivation less predictable. Plants continuously produce electrical signals that can indicate stress, often before visible damage appears. GreenMind investigates how these signals can support better cultivation decisions.
The team

Scientific leadership and research
Peter spent more than two decades as a Research Scientist at the MIT Sloan School of Management and is an honorary professor at the University of Cologne. His current research at Galaxylabs.org focuses on well-being and human–animal and human–plant communication. With a PhD in computer science from the University of Zurich and postdoctoral research at MIT, he contributes expertise in collaborative intelligence and data-driven research to GreenMind.

Engineering and data science
Traver studies data science at FHNW and combines his studies with applied research at GreenMind. Having completed a Swiss vocational qualification as a physics laboratory technician at armasuisse, he brings experience in data analysis, electronics and sensing. He connects sensor hardware with data analysis and is responsible for platform development, sensor integration and the data pipeline.
How we work
Each component is tested under real cultivation conditions, in greenhouses and outdoors, together with FHNW and agricultural partners. We document our results in the Science Center and compare them with current scientific literature.
